Question by Alex: How do I setup my G1 without Data-plan?
I bought my G1 (Android Dev phone 1) from this guy on craigslist, and he had it rooted with Jesusfreak v1.42 or watever, and I didn’t know that >.<
so I tried "updating" to JFv1.3 cuz i thought it was the latest version, and it worked. but now im stuck on the setup screen since I dont have a dataplan.
I am COMPLETELY clueless when it comes to android. idk what a firmware is or what the RCxx things are 
I know that I could just ask someone to lend me their SIM card with the data plan, but idk anyone with that plan, and I am not willing to pay 35$ extra a month for a phone which isn't even that great.
currently, I have installed on my phone version "JFv1.42"(thats what it says when I press power+home).
when I turn it on it shows the old android splash screen with the glowing robot.
then it takes me to the setup screen which is where I'm stuck since I cant sign into my gmail account cuz i dont have data plan.
is there ANY way to setup my phone with wifi so that I dont have to buy a data plan or borrow a SIM card?
also, does anyone know what it would cost me to add the dataplan for like a day to setup my phone, then take it off?

No you have to have a data plan.
